I would like to mention you a very exciting rugby event aside of the 2007 world rugby cup. You can pass the information around and contact me if you are interested.
During the Rugby World Cup 2007 the Veteran Rugby Player Union (UFAR) –a
branch of the French Rugby Union (FFR) – and the veteran team of Marseilles, the Bandar log’s, organizes four international
veteran rugby tournaments in Marseilles . Marseille will host 6 world cup games and will be the training camp of the New Zealand team.
The date of our tournaments are:
1° - September, Sunday 9th, the day after New Zealand - Italy
2° - September, Sunday 23rd, the day after Argentina - Namibia
3° - September, Saturday 29th, the day before France - Georgia
4°- October, Friday 5th, the day before the two quarterfinals 1B-
2A and 1A-2B
These festivals are welcoming any foreign and French team willing to attend. Each tournament are independent.
We plan to host at least 4 foreign teams and between 10 to 15 French teams. Team willing to attend to more than one tournament are welcomed. Tournament will last one day and is very cheap (50 euros including the tournament, one breakfast, two meals, one night party, souvenirs and goodies). Foreign teams will be take in charge the day before and, on request, for leisure activities days after.
These festivals aim playing rugby under the spirit of “Fun, Friendship and Fraternity” and developing relationships between players during the 2007 rugby world cup in the sunny city of Marseilles.
So far, we have registered:
